PARIS HAUS

Transforming Manhattan’s Architectural Skyscape into Landscape

Located on Manhattan’s bustling 29th Street, the esteemed Hotel Deauville once stood as an epitome of architectural elegance and community. Its transformation into Paris Haus represents a sophisticated and contemporary reimagining of this iconic building.

Inspired by Baron Haussmann’s vision for light, proportion, and urban rhythm, Paris Haus introduces a subtle yet transformative 2’-6” code-permitted street extrusion that defines a new series of Juliette balconies. These allow for floor-to-ceiling windows, enhancing natural light and air while creating a gentle dialogue between interior and exterior. The balcony railings act as green privacy screens, softening the building’s façade and offering an ecological alternative to conventional glass surfaces — more welcoming to both people and urban wildlife.

Paris Haus is a testament to the commitment to honor the past, celebrate the present, and embrace the future. Through the seamless integration of historical inspiration, contemporary aluminum-based design, and the incorporation of living ecologies, it exemplifies architectural complexity, creating a living space for humans that resonate with residents and the surrounding neighborhood.
